General Questions About the Co-op
Q: What is North Alabama Coop, and how does it work?
A: North Alabama Coop (or cooperative) is a member-owned business that’s built to serve the needs of local farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. Our co-op is owned and governed by its members — the people who use our products and services. That means profits are reinvested into the co-op or shared back with members. We’re open to the public, but co-op members often receive additional benefits like special pricing, patronage dividends, and a voice in how the business is run.
Q: Do I have to be a member to shop here?
A: Not at all! Everyone is welcome to shop at our co-op.
You don’t need to be a member to enjoy our wide selection of farm, home, and garden products.
Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm & Saturday, 7:30am – 12pm.
Q: Are you open to the public or only to farmers?
A: We’re open to everyone! Whether you’re a farmer, gardener, homeowner, or just stopping by, you’re always welcome at our co-op. No membership or farm background needed — we’re here to serve our whole community.
Products & Services
Q: What kind of products do you carry?
A: We carry a wide range of farm, home, and garden supplies — everything from livestock feed and fencing tools, hardware, erosion control materials, plants, pet supplies, footwear, and seasonal items like flowers and seeds. Whether you’re running a farm or just working on your backyard, we’ve got what you need.
Q: Do you sell local or organic products?
A: Yes! We proudly carry a variety of local products, including honey, catfish fillets, seasonal peanuts, and some locally grown plants. Our local and seasonal items can change, so be sure to check in often!
Plants & Garden Center
Q: What kind of plants and flowers do you carry? A: We carry a wide selection of vegetables,
herbs, and flowers from Bonnie Plants annually. We also will seasonally bring in other plants such as mums, ornamentals, fruit trees/bushes and more!
Q: Do you ever run sales/specials on your plants/seeds? A: Yes we do! Our well known Bonnie
Plant Sale runs annually, usually through parts of April & May.
Farm Supplies
Q: What livestock feed and supplies do you carry? A: We carry feed and supplies for a wide range of animals, including cattle, horses, goats, chickens, pigs, and more. You’ll find trusted brands, mineral supplements, feeders, troughs, fencing, and health products — everything you need to mkeep your livestock healthy and well-fed.
Q: Do you sell fencing, tools, or equipment?
A: Yes, we do! We stock fencing materials like wire, posts, and gates, along with a wide selection of hand tools, power tools, and equipment for farm and home use. Whether you’re fixing a fence or tackling a weekend project, we’ve got the supplies to help you get it done.
Q: Do you offer bulk pricing or farm discounts?
A: Yes! We offer bulk pricing on many feed, seed, and supply items, and we’re happy to work with farms and larger operations on volume discounts. Just ask our team — we’re here to help you save on the supplies you need.
